THE 8th INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON CLINICAL RESEARCH METHODS IN ORAL HEALTH

Last February 20-24th, 2023, the 8th International Workshop on Clinical Research Methods in Oral Health was held at Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen, Thailand. The workshop was part of the collaboration between UP College of Dentistry and Khon Kaen University under the Clinical and Public Health Research in Oral Health Training Program for Southeast Asia, supported by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) & Fogarty International Center (FIC), National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA. This program started in 2022.
The University of the Philippines Manila, College of Dentistry was able to send 2 delegates to attend the workshop.
Dr. Josievitz Tan-Zafra from the Graduate Program in Orthodontics and Dr. Regina Carmela Pengson from the
Department of Community Dentistry joined 42 other participants from a total of 11 countries namely Philippines, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, China and Nepal.
The 4-day workshop, aimed to help clinicians, public health dentists and junior researchers to understand the principles of clinical, epidemiological and behavioral research in dentistry. It was facilitated by faculty members from the University of Washington, USA, Khon Kaen University, Thammasat University and Chulalongkorn University Thailand.
