Blessing and Inauguration of the Ground Floor Lounges of the UP College of Dentistry
A new facility of the UP College of Dentistry, the Ground Floor Lounges, was inaugurated today, July 31, 2023, which coincides with the first year of Dean Michelle Segarra's administration. Chancellor Carmencita Padilla was the guest of honor and she was accompanied by the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nymia Simbulan; Vice-Chancellor for Administration and Finance, Dr. Arlene Samaniego; Vice-Chancellor for Planning and Development, Dr. Michael L. Tee. The blessing was officiated by Father Eli Rowdy Lumbo, SJ from the PGH Chapel.
The ground floor lounges include a main lounge, a conference room, 2 covered courtyards, a non-academic personnel lounge and an office for the Dental Student Council.
Funds for this project came mostly from the earnings of the Comprehensive Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry Short Course and the Enhancement Course in Oral Surgery. Dr. Armin Segarra, is the lead proponent of the project.
The main lounge is open to faculty members, students and the non-academic personnel.
