A POCKET MUSEUM/EXHIBIT DEDICATED TO DR. LUZ C. MACAPANPAN, THE MOTHER OF PHILIPPINE ORTHODONTICS


Last March 19, 2024, the Dr. Luz C. Macapanpan Wall highlighting her contributions to Philippine Orthodontics and significant moments in her illustrious career, was unveiled at the fourth floor of the UP College of Dentistry, which houses the Orthodontics Graduate Program. It was a project of former UPDAA President, Dr. Monica Sison-Quiambao, niece of Dr. Macapanpan. 

Dr. Macapanpan was instrumental in developing the field of Orthodontics in the country and in the establishment of the UP Graduate Program in Orthodontics. The Master of Science in Dentistry (Orthodontics) is the first University-based graduate program in the country and is the only Orthodontics graduate program accredited by the Philippine Board of Orthodontics. 


The unveiling of the Dr. Luz Macapanpan Wall was attended by Dean Michelle Segarra, former Orthodontics Graduate Program faculty member Dr. Joji Tan, Dr. Macapanpan’s former students, former and current orthodontics faculty members and students.
