Three UPCD faculty members, Dr. Krystark Gomez, Dr. Franz Agustin and Dr. Erick Quiniquini represented the UP College of Dentistry in the "International Scientific Conference on Climate Change and Health and the 6th Asia-Pacific Green Healthcare System Conference" in Hai Phong, Vietnam, October 30 to November 1, 2024, proving UPCD's commitment not only to oral health but to environmental health.
Dr. Krystark Gomez and Dr. Franz Agustin presented UPCD's plan for an environmentally sustainable and resilient dental practice in their plenary presentation and digital poster presentation "Piloting Green Dentistry: Path of the UPCD Towards Sustainable Dental Practice".
UPCD is the first dental academic institution in the Philippines to conduct a Healthcare Waste and Plastic Audit last May 24, 2024.
UPCD is a member of the international movement, Global Green and Health Hospitals (GGHH) since 2023 and has an MOU with the international environmental NGO, Healthcare Without Harm (HCWH). Dean Segarra is the current vice-president of Healthcare Without Harm Southeast Asia.
