Academic Visit and Exchange Program (AVEP)
Two junior clinicians from the University of the Philippines Manila College of Dentistry, Chania Rodriguez and Keanno Tumang, proudly represented the college from December 11 to 16, 2025 in the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University—one of the top dental schools in Thailand—for the Academic Visit and Exchange Program (AVEP) 2025.With a theme of “Emergency Dentistry,” AVEP 2025 brought together participants from various nations such as the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the United States of America, and Australia—providing a platform for academic exchange, professional development, and cross-cultural interaction among future dental practitioners.
During the program, the students attended lectures on forensic odontology and the management of medical emergencies, participated in hands-on workshops on maxillofacial prosthetic impression-taking and emergency response, toured the Faculty of Dentistry and Chulalongkorn University Dental Hospital, visited cultural landmarks such as Wat Pho, Wat Arun, and Museum Siam, and joined cultural workshops that featured traditional Thai dessert-making and flower hammer art.
The delegates extend their sincere gratitude to the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, for the warm hospitality and enriching academic experience, and to UPCD for the opportunity to participate in this program, which strengthened their clinical knowledge, broadened their global perspective, and reinforced the value of international collaboration in dental education.
