Event Summary:
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waranuch Pitiphat, Dean of the KKU Faculty of Dentistry, Thailand visited the UP College of Dentistry on May 20, 2019. She was welcomed by Dr. Danilo Magtanong, Dean of the UP College of Dentistry, together with the Filipino KKUFOD student and alumni. She was given a tour around UP Manila campus and UPCD College by former UPCD Dean, Dr. Vic Medina and some Filipino KKUFOD alumni.
After the tour, a program was held at the Centennial Room of the UPCD. Dean Danilo Magtanong gave his opening remarks followed by Dr. Armand C. Crisostomo, UP Manila Vice-Chancellor for Research, delivering the Chancellor’s message. Dr. Nymia Pimentel-Simbulan, UP Manila Vice- Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Tristan Ramos, UP Manila Registrar also graced the program. Members of the UPCD faculty and Filipino KKUFOD alumni and students were in attendance. Dr. Pitiphat delivered her presentation entitled “The KKU Faculty of Dentistry Journey: 40 years of continuous learning”, where she shared the journey of KKUFOD for the past 40 years including the challenges they faced and how they were able to surpass those challenges. The program concluded with the awarding of the certificate of appreciation and token by Dean Magtanong, Vice-Chancellor Crisostomo, and Vice-Chancellor Simbulan. The event ended with a meet-and-greet lunch where UPCD faculty members were able to interact with Dr. Pitiphat.
UPCD and KKU has an existing MOU and this event aimed to strengthen the existing good relationship between the two institutions.
