Retirement of UPCD Faculty Members
UP College of Dentistry honors the exceptional work and paramount service to the college and the university of five of our esteemed faculty members:
Dr. Susana L. Yatco-Sotelo finished her DDM degree from UP College of Dentistry in 1985. She obtained her MA in Teaching from the Centro Escolar University. She served the college for 28 years as an outstanding lecturer in Oral Histology, Clinical Instructor for Restorative Dentistry and Coordinator of Board Review/ Refresher Courses. She also served as Chair of the Department of Basic Dental Health Sciences under the terms of Dean Jimena and Dean De Castro.
Dr. Angelina Atienza obtained her DMD degree from UPCD in 1982 and her MOH in UP College of Public Health. She served as the Operative Dentistry Section head, as well as Assistant to the Dean during her 30 years in the university. Her lectures span several disciplines which include Dental Materials, Infection Control and Special Care Needs Dentistry, Oral Physiology and a Clinical Instructor of Restorative Dentistry.
Dr. Maria Aurora “Wawi” G. Dellosa held the position of a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatric Dentistry, a volunteer position since 2010. She graduated with a degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1983 and Masters in Hospital Administration in 2015.
Another UPCD alumnus, Dr. Alfredo “Boyet” San Andres, Jr., a member of Class of 1983 also served the college as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry. The college appreciates the 7 years of volunteer service he rendered.
Dr. Maria Arlissa D. Aguiluz attained her DDM degree from UP College of Dentistry in 1983 but she has continued her education by attending several post-graduate courses. Her service record includes several administrative positions since she became a faculty member of the Prosthodontics Section in 1994: UP Regent, Basic Health Sciences Department Chair and Prosthodontics Section head and several committee positions, to name a few.
