Third White Coat and Pinning Ceremony
Last February 3, 2025, the 3RD Pinning and White Coat Ceremony was held for the newest batch of dental clinicians at the recently renovated College of Dentistry Auditorium. Forty-eight joyous and hopeful clinicians from Batch Agos were accompanied by their proud and exuberant parents and guests as they donned their new clinician pins and white coats. Vice-Chancellor for Administration and Finance Dr. Johanna Patricia A. Cañal graced this very memorable occasion. Dean Michelle Segarra, in her opening remarks, encouraged the members of Batch Agos to strive hard and work conscientiously in ensuring quality care is provided to their patients within the prescribed two year period of clinical training within the Patient Care Based (PCB) Curriculum. In their Oath of Professionalism, administered by Dr. Melanie Ruth Karganilla, the Clinical Chairperson, each clinician was reminded of their responsibility towards honing themselves to become clinicians with honor, excellence, and heart for service.
During the same afternoon, the recent board passers and topnotchers from the December 2024 Dental Licensure Examination was also recognized. UP College of Dentistry boasts of its 100% (48 out of 48) passing rate, with 6 graduates landing on the top spots. Present to receive their plaque of recognition and token of appreciation from the college are the top placers— Dr. Lovely Pamela Rizare (Rank 2), Dr. Kisha Dana Cabuyadao (Rank 3), Dr. Derrick Dee Haluag (Rank 4), Dr. Jillian Santos (Rank 5), Dr. Nianne Carla Hernandez (Rank 7), and Dr. Sandra Rachelle Yao (Rank 9). In her speech, Dean Segarra highlighted these exemplary achievements of the college’s recent graduates and hoped that they inspire the new batch of AGOS Clinicians.
The White Coat and Pinning Ceremony and Recognition of Board Passers and Topnotchers are part of the week-long celebration of the 110th Foundation Anniversary of the UP College of Dentistry which was held from February 3 to 7, 2025.
